National Leadership Council: Board Development

ORCNI team members between 2009 and 2011 provided the Board Development work stream of the NHS leadership work stream with innovative programme direction and project management support.

Since the conception of this programme it has been highly successful in unifying diverse stakeholders from across the NHS Board Development landscape, setting common work stream objectives and commissioning the publication of the Healthy NHS Board.

ORCNI members assisted in the to design and commissioning of the following activities on behalf of the NLC:

• The launch of the NLCs innovative digital governance exchange platform.
• The development of an inter-organisation development programme to advance the Quality & Productivity Challenge. The Placed Based Leadership programme brings the NHS and LA partners together to address local governance issues, tackle complex healthcare challenges and align cultures around the concept of 'place'.
• The publication of governance guidance for the emergent GP consortia community, as an extension of Principles for Good Governance.
