Health Service Executive Ireland

Ireland's largest ever change-initiative replaced 10 regional health boards with an executive, responsible for 100,000 staff. Coaching Lead, Orcni's Alan Gorringe, developed a new model and selected and supervised Irish-based coaches for delivery of a coaching and feedback programme for senior and middle managers nationwide. He also personally coached Directors and Senior Managers during this period of major transition. The programme, in partnership with Tribal Plc and the King's Fund, equipped 17 national directors and 160 managers with the skills for change. It aimed to:

  • Unify disparate delivery areas to define a "world class health delivery organisation"
  • Improve health outcomes and service quality for users, involving clinicians and managers
  • Maximise value for investment and instill staff confidence and pride
